The unfinished wood leaves dust & wood chips all over & splinters in the cushions. It’s hell just trying to vacuum the inside of it. These couches are for looks only, not for everyday life & they don’t even look that nice. 2 stars for lasting almost a year. First, to order a custom couch during the insane shipping times and have it come in two weeks flat was amazing. Second, Home Reserve worked with me to ensure it came just on the day I wanted.

It takes about a hour to assemble each piece, so its a full day of assembly....wasn't mentioned in the marketing. Also the pilot holes in 1/3 of the furniture were not there...and without a jig..its difficult to get lined up. Not a bad product, but I paid a lot for the frustration. I am smitten with the fact that every piece of fabric, both the cushion covers and the covers for the bases are removeable and can be thrown in the washing machine. When I had an issue with the sectional we purchased over a year ago, the company reached out to me to resolve that issue. I hadn't expected such quick and satisfying service.
Home Reserve Review: Our Couch & Sectional Experience
One of the sections arrived with one piece that was broken in shipping--I contacted customer service and the response was unbelievably speedy. We had a replacement piece in hand in less than a week! The assembly instructions were very thorough, the storage space is wonderful, and it's so nice to be able to configure it exactly to how we like it and our living room space. A SOLID COMPANY. A SOLID WARRANTY. A SOLID PRODUCT. We love our new couch. We purchased it from a family who was moving and the warranty transferred to us without any question.
Home Reserve did gift us our couch but this post is in no way sponsored by them.
Are the Couches Made in the USA?
Before I get in to the details on just what it takes to get one of these sectionals/sofas, I want to tell you some of the features that got us excited. Also, as a disclaimer, I’m not being compensated for this post, I just really like my new sofa and wanted to share. To start off I am going to answer some of the most asked questions I’ve received on Facebook & Instagram.
Since this is a modular sectional there are seams between each section as opposed to being one continuous piece. I have solved this by hanging a blanket on the back. I don't have any current photos that don't show my living room a mess (ha!) but it has held up well, we even moved and rearranged it at our new place. It was easy to take apart and lightweight .
We ordered a sectional before our baby…
Supporting them is something our family is very passionate about. Home Reserve uses all raw materials from within the USA! They oversee all of the supply chain and know where everything is from. From the wood, foam, back cushion fibers and even the cardboard boxes it all comes from within the US. Disclaimer- This post is 100% my own honest thoughts on the products produced by Home Reserve.

The website also was very helpful in tips to complete my build. The style I selected partially did not fit my expectations. I then discovered what Home Reserves real superpower was...Stephanie of Customer Support.
I drew out several options with measurements while I was trying to decide on what would work best for us, and I ended up having a couple of questions that I sent in via email. I would always get a response right away and they were very helpful. Archetype Quartz and Archetype Hemp have a nice classic linen texture, while Maltese Taupe and Maltese Flax have a softer texture. I kept them in the room for a few days and paid close attention to how they looked during different times of day. After much debate we chose Archetype Quartz since it was the perfect blend of brown and gray.
If by chance it breaks in the moving truck (there is a good chance it could-if you have ever moved as much as we have you know what I mean) the warranty alone has our back. It goes against our guidelines to offer incentives for reviews. We also ensure all reviews are published without moderation. Courtney was so personable, knowledgeable and fun to speak with, I felt like I was chatting with a friend. Sure, she was quick to take my order… but somehow we talked about our favorite true crime podcast in the meantime.
The website was also very user friendly, and it was easy to put my order in. That was something very important to us when I found out they were USA made. I try my darndest to buy from the small shops or local businesses when see fit.

Other than that, I still find it quite comfortable to lay out on a daily basis. Besides the appearance, let’s touch on what else I love. For starters, I enjoyed being able to create our own layout. Ordering was a super simple process, and the customer service team is amazing.
I ordered this at first, since I figured it would be the last couch I buy. If kids or dog stained or broke it, I could just replace those pieces & not the entire thing. Well one year later & way too many pieces are broken & need to be replaced. The price for replacement is way too much. Might as well buy a whole new couch for that price & never have to deal with this piece of crap again.
Customer service was phenomenal- they not only arranged to ship to us, but even held the shipping by a few days so it wouldn't arrive when we were out of town. Overall, I am very happy with this sectional despite my family’s desire to have big brown back up here haha! Fortunately for them that has moved to the basement so they can still enjoy it down there. And it’s custom to the exact size and configuration that we need. I really can’t think of any downsides to it. The first piece I assembled was the Left Armchair.
If you go to their site they have a section you can track your shipment. It will tell you how far behind they are and what orders they are working on that current week. The customer service team is the best I have ever worked with! I messed up my order and they bent over backwards to help me find a solution. Also, the couches are amazingly made.
